I am back at it!!

Its been over 2 months since I went running last and it is now time to get back to training for another 5K!

The past few weeks have been crazy; I graduated from college, got an apartment in Michigan, getting ready to move to Michigan, started working over 40 hours a week again, going to a few baseball games, and getting through a pretty bad cold. But it is time to get back to working out and training.

I have signed up for the Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium on Sunday Aug 12. This 5K is really cool because it takes place at Yankee Stadium where the runners get to run the concourses, ramps, the stairs between the levels of the stadium, and runners even get to run the warning track around the field! And the best part is that all of the money from the race (through the race entry fees and donations) goes towards cancer research. Here is the link to the race website for more info http://www.damonrunyon.org/yankeestadium If you would like to donate, please let me know and I would share the link to you where you can donate!

So because of this (and I feel really out of shape), I have started training again. I think that this training will be easier than training for my first 5K because I know that I can do it.

I ran on 1.6 miles straight on the treadmill Saturday and it felt really good despite not running in over 2 months. I also lifted some weights and strength training. This 5K has a lot of stairs in it so I want to build up my muscles and get some strength as well. I want to treat this 5K more like a 10K because of the stairs and ramps.

So that is it for now. I am going to training a lot for the next 50 days to get as strong as possible. I will keep you guys posted throughout my training!

Thanks for reading!
